Plummeting into the blue waters with great agility and finesse, the young swimmers of Navy children school, Kochi competed against each other in the Annual Inter-House Swimming Competition held in the month of July, 2018. All the participants with their flawless manoeuvres worked their fingers to the bone, garnering accolades for their respective houses. Capt. V K Trivedi, Command Sports Officer, was the chief guest for the day. Organized by the students of Class 12, as a part of SEWA, the program was an initiative par excellence.
Over a thousand student runners and walkers wearing colourful uniforms and sprinting with the spirit of Indian Independence Struggle competed in the Freedom Run, the marathon competition of Navy Children School, Naval Base, Kochi held on Friday, 14 August, 2018. Conducted annually to commemorate India's Freedom from the British, it is one of the most prestigious and exciting marathons. The year's marathon had its courses set along historical and impeccable landscapes of the Southern Naval Command including the famous war memorial, INS Venduruthy and the T2 Hanger. Flagged off by Capt P J Singh, Director, Navy Children School, the competition saw students competing with great zeal and passion. The program was witnessed by enthusiastic parents. Organized by the students of Class 10, as a part of SEWA, the program was a successful initiative.
With a sparkling spirit of patriotism, the students and teachers of Navy Children School, Kochi celebrated the 72nd year of India's Independence. Cmde R Ravi Sankar, Command Education & Welfare Officer and Vice Chairman, NCS (K) hoisted the national flag. Patriotic renditions instilling loyalty and devotion reverberated throughout the day. A short play, chronicling the freedom movement, a dance on the importance of freedom struggle and a mime on the resurgent India mesmerised the hearts of the audience and instilled the spirit of unity, equality and fraternity. The chief guest in his speech directed the students to be reminiscent about their sense of duty towards the nation and persuaded them to work towards the same. Organized by the students of Class 9, as a part of SEWA, the program was an initiative par excellence. The winners of the Freedom Run, the marathon competition held in connection with Independence Day celebrations, were honoured during the function. Cdr P J Singh, Director NCS (K) and Dr Nellie Paul Verghese, Principal, NCS(K), graced the occasion with their presence.
The annual exhibition christened Explo-Fiesta was an initiative by the students to exhibit their creative talents and to kinder enthusiasm in young minds. The exhibits for the annual exhibition were a great crowd puller, with parents and students thronging to see the exhibits and gain more knowledge about the same. The program was organised by the students of class 11 as a part of their SEWA project. The program was inaugurated by Capt P J Singh, Director, Navy Children School. The program concluded with great positive feedbacks.
