Navy Children School, Kochi, established in 1986, works under the patronage of the Navy Education Society (NES), New Delhi. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. It equips students for the All India Secondary and Senior School Certificate Examinations conducted by the CBSE. The school has a full fledged primary, secondary and senior secondary sections with the most modern facilities and state of the art infrastructure.
It is a co-education institution, stationed inside the Naval Base, Southern Naval Command, Kochi. Navy Children School has endeavoured to continuously upgrade the skills and proficiency of the staff and students. The institution’s prestige was magnified with the addition of the Centre for Faculty Development (CFD), for the training of faculty of all the schools under NES, with effect from March, 2019.

The school has a full fledged primary, secondary and senior school with following section:

  • Primary-Std.1 to Std.V
  • Middle School-Std.VI to Std.VII
  • Secondary-Std.VIII to Std X.
  • Senior School-Std.XI to Std.XII
The Primary block housed at Garuda region of the Naval Base has Classes I to IV surrounded by lush greenery and an atmosphere encouraging a holistic development.
The Main School comprises Classes VI to XII with sufficient resources catering to the needs of the students from middle school to higher secondary.

NCS KOCHI – A CHRONICLE

Adorning the queen of the Arabian Sea, with the Indian Navy standing guard, is the Navy Children School, Kochi. An educational institution that took wings in a naval barrack on 8 July 1986, Naval Public School, Kochi initiated as a humble structure with a great vision. The foundations of this great edifice took shape in a building in the Kataribagh, Willingdon Island, under the able hands of Mrs. Indira V James. The school, which initially housed strength of 60 students and three faculty members, in course of time, with great perseverance and strong leadership, soon bloomed into a beautiful institution with strength of over 2000 students and a vibrant faculty.

OUR AIM

The school has incorporated co-scholastic and life skill activities along with the prescribed academic syllabus towards aiming at enhancing the creative and critical thinking faculty of the students. Heralded by Late Ms Indira V James, the founder Principal, nurtured by eminent heads at various points of time and presently navigating under the able leadership of Dr Nellie Paul Verghese, the school is certain to scale greater heights and attain higher benchmarks in imparting quality education.
